Job summary

Michael Page is recruiting for Head of Infrastructure at a leading university in the United Kingdom. The role leads a 37-person team through a major modernisation programme including data centre consolidation, telephony transformation and cloud capability development.

You will provide confident, autonomous leadership across platforms, networks and infrastructure, shaping strategy while improving team empowerment and operational delivery.

Qualifications

• Senior leadership experience within a complex infrastructure environment.
• Breadth across platforms, networks, cloud, data centres, storage and virtualisation.
• Strong platform infrastructure experience spanning servers, storage and virtualisation.
• Experience leading cloud adoption and infrastructure modernisation.
• Ability to make decisions with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Lead, develop and empower the infrastructure management team.
• Define infrastructure strategy, standards and technical roadmap.
• Oversee data centre consolidation and on-premise estate modernisation.
• Develop a pragmatic cloud-where-appropriate approach.
• Oversee telephony transformation and platform capabilities.
• Maintain availability, capacity, resilience and security of infrastructure.
• Manage budgets, suppliers, contracts and SLAs.
• Provide regular financial, operational and performance reporting.
