Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership and vision in SHEQ for the company's global operations, ensuring compliance in all areas.
- Deliver and maintain a SHEQ change programme to embed and develop a positive culture across the organisation, driving employee engagement on health, safety, environment, and quality matters at all levels, meeting legal responsibilities, maintaining certifications, and promoting best practices.
- Engage, support, and positively influence directors, managers, and supervisors to create and maintain a vibrant health and safety culture, supporting them to discharge their responsibilities under legislation and company procedures.
- Lead initiatives, campaigns, and new processes to continually improve safety, health, environment, and quality within the company.
- Develop and utilize metrics to measure and drive improvement, setting KPIs and targets for the SHEQ team, and reporting progress to the executive team.
- Review and update safety, health, environmental, and quality strategies, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with ISO9001, ISO14001, ISO45001 standards, and relevant legislation.
- Lead the certification process for ISO standards and manage audits and surveillance activities.
- Stay up-to-date with legislation and maintain knowledge of policies, standards, and codes of practice affecting the business.
- Manage incident investigations, ensuring quality and timeliness.
- Implement and oversee an inspection and internal audit plan, monitoring trends and compliance, and taking corrective actions as needed.
- Provide leadership to the company's SHEQ team.
- Maintain a calendar of key safety activities and inspection dates.
- Develop, monitor, and report on annual SHEQ budgets.
- Contribute to prequalification and tender processes.
- Prepare regular reports on SHEQ performance.
- Support subcontractor pre-qualification and onboarding processes.
- Liaise with external bodies such as HSE, OSHA, environmental agencies, and other stakeholders.
The Ideal Person
- NEBOSH Level 6 qualification in Occupational Safety and Health (or equivalent).
- Minimum of 3 years in a senior SHEQ role, preferably in manufacturing.
- Thorough knowledge of ISO and OSHA standards.
- Full understanding of legal HSE policies and guidelines.
