SGN is seeking a Head of Green Gas Solutions to lead biomethane and renewable gas initiatives in a hybrid, senior leadership role in London. You will own strategy, safety, and delivery across multiple locations, guiding a team of around 20 professionals and driving multi‑million projects.

The role emphasizes commercial growth, stakeholder engagement and a strong safety culture within a net-zero transition framework.

Qualifications

• Senior leadership experience within biomethane, biogas, utilities, gas infrastructure or related low-carbon industry (high importance).
• Track record of delivering large, complex engineering or infrastructure projects (£10m+).
• Experience leading geographically dispersed, multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong commercial acumen with expertise in business development, contract negotiation and financial management.
• Passion for developing people, driving innovation and sustainable growth.

• Lead and grow a market-leading Biomethane & Green Gas Solutions business with responsibility for strategy, commercial performance, safety and operational delivery.
• Drive expansion of renewable gas and low-carbon energy solutions to support decarbonisation.
• Own and develop a portfolio of biomethane/green gas projects (£10m–£20m).
• Shape growth by identifying market opportunities, partnerships and innovative services.
• Lead and inspire a multidisciplinary team of around 20 professionals across locations.
• Build and maintain relationships with customers, developers, utilities, investors and contractors.
• Oversee projects through feasibility, design, construction, commissioning and operations.
• Take accountability for revenue growth, profitability, forecasting and budgeting.
• Champion safety culture, compliance and risk management at delivery stages.
• Represent the business at senior levels to strengthen market presence.

• Lead and grow a market-leading Biomethane & Green Gas Solutions business with full responsibility for strategy, commercial performance, safety and operational delivery.
• Drive the expansion of renewable gas and low-carbon energy solutions, helping deliver the UK's decarbonisation ambitions.
• Own and develop a portfolio of complex biomethane and green gas projects valued between £10m-£20m.
• Shape business growth by identifying new market opportunities, strategic partnerships and innovative service offerings.
• Lead, coach and inspire a multidisciplinary team of around 20 professionals across multiple locations.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, developers, utilities, investors, contractors and industry partners.
• Oversee projects throughout the asset lifecycle, from feasibility and design through to construction, commissioning and ongoing operations.
• Take accountability for revenue growth, profitability, forecasting, budgeting and long-term business planning.
• Champion a strong safety culture and ensure compliance, technical assurance and risk management remain at the heart of delivery.
• Represent the business at a senior level, influencing stakeholders and strengthening market presence across the renewable energy sector.

What you’ll need

• Senior leadership experience within biomethane, biogas, utilities, gas infrastructure, process engineering or a related low-carbon industry.
• Track record of delivering complex engineering or infrastructure projects valued at £10m+.
• Experience leading geographically dispersed, multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong commercial acumen with expertise in business development, contract negotiation and financial management.
• Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on leadership and delivery focus.
• Passion for developing people, driving innovation and creating sustainable business growth.
