Job summary

Simpson Judge in Nottingham or Leicester is seeking a Partner or Director-level Employment lawyer to join an expanding Employment team. Hybrid working is offered, with a requirement to manage a broad caseload for SMEs to large corporates.

Nottingham or Leicester | Hybrid Working

We are working with a highly regarded and growing law firm that is looking to appoint a Partner or Director-level Employment lawyer to join its expanding Employment team in either Nottingham or Leicester.

This is an excellent opportunity for an established Employment specialist with a strong client following, referral network or business development track record who is looking to take the next step in their career and play a key role in the continued growth and direction of the practice.

The Opportunity

The successful candidate will join an established Employment practice advising a diverse client base, from SMEs and owner-managed businesses through to larger corporate organisations.

You will have the opportunity to:

• Manage a high-quality and varied Employment caseload
• Advise employers and senior individuals on a broad range of employment matters
• Develop and grow your own client following and referral network
• Play a key role in the strategic development of the Employment team
• Identify and develop new business opportunities
• Build and maintain relationships with existing and prospective clients
• Mentor and support junior members of the team
• Work collaboratively with colleagues across other practice areas
• Help shape the future direction and growth of the Employment offering

The role would particularly suit someone who is commercially minded, enjoys business development and wants to play a genuine role in building and growing the practice.

About You

We are looking for an established Employment lawyer operating at Partner, Legal Director or equivalent level.

You will ideally have:

• Significant experience across a broad range of Employment matters
• A strong existing client following and/or established referral network
• A proven track record in business development and winning new work
• Strong commercial awareness and excellent client management skills
• Experience advising businesses and/or senior executives
• The ability to develop and maintain long-term client relationships
• Strong leadership and team development skills
• The ambition to contribute to the wider growth and strategy of the practice

Candidates who are not currently a Partner but have a strong following and are ready to make that step will also be considered.
