Job summary

Capital One is seeking a collaborative and driven Head of Data Management to lead a 12-strong team of Data Stewards and Data Management professionals across the UK. You will ensure data is governed, discoverable and of high quality to support data-driven decision making.

You will shape a compelling data management strategy, drive risk-aware practices with the DPO, and partner with senior leaders to embed governance across the organisation. This is a hybrid role based in Nottingham or London.

Qualifications

• Experience in data stewardship, governance and lifecycle management.
• Strong understanding of policies and regulation (e.g. GDPR).
• Deep understanding of data applications and how to solve complex data issues.
• Experience with database management, data modelling and data quality processes.
• Technical knowledge: Cloud Data Products, SQL, Python.
• Experience in financial services or technology company environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of 12 for data stewardship and governance across Capital One UK.
• Create an ecosystem where data is discoverable, high quality and usable.
• Develop data quality frameworks with metrics and success criteria.
• Ensure adherence to regulatory and Enterprise policy requirements.
• Demonstrate data risk awareness and work with executives to manage risks.
• Develop and own a compelling data management strategy for the organisation.
• Influence senior leadership to ensure data management accountabilities are understood and executed.
• Oversee end-to-end data lifecycle from ingestion to archiving.
• Build deep relationships with Enterprise partners for UK requirements.
• Promote data-driven decision making across the organisation.
