Job description

Position: Head of Compliance – Skills & Employability

Location: Home based – non regional (Occasional travel will be required to London)

Salary: £45,000 - £50,000

Type: Permanent

The Role

As Head of Compliance, you will lead our Skills & Employability provision, ensuring that all supporting documentation and claims are compliant. You should be familiar with devolved authority funding claims, MOJ, and Employability-based claims.

You will support monthly ILR and other funding returns, ensuring timely and accurate data submissions. Additionally, you will oversee regular internal audits to maintain and achieve high compliance standards.

We seek a self-starter with a positive attitude, comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, effectively managing your time and workload to meet business needs.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Lead the development and implementation of compliance policies and procedures specific to skills and employability programmes, ensuring alignment with national regulatory standards.
  2. Conduct regular compliance assessments, audits, and reviews of internal practices to identify risks, control gaps, and areas for improvement.
  3. Identify and evaluate compliance risks within the skills and employability programs, advising management on mitigation strategies.
  4. Develop and oversee risk management strategies related to regulatory compliance, collaborating with operational teams to ensure ongoing compliance.
  5. Educate and train internal teams on compliance best practices, regulatory updates, and policy changes.
  6. Coordinate with external regulatory bodies, partners, and stakeholders to ensure compliance and address inquiries or concerns.

Skills & Experience

  • Experience in a senior compliance role, preferably within skills development, workforce training, or employability sectors.
  • Strong regulatory knowledge specific to these areas.
  • Understanding of compliance, risk management, and regulatory requirements related to skills and employability.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to assess complex compliance issues and develop practical solutions.
  • Proficiency in compliance software and data management tools.
