Job summary

National Grid plc is seeking a Head of Compliance for the NGET division, based in Warwick with hybrid working. You will lead the compliance programme, embed ethics and accountability, and partner with senior leaders to strengthen risk-based controls and regulatory compliance across the organisation.

You will shape the strategic compliance lifecycle, oversee risk assessment, controls, training and remediation, and report to the NGET Board and National Grid Group.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in compliance/ethics within regulated environments.
• 3+ years leading teams and delivering compliance programmes.
• Experience with audit, assurance or risk management.
• Strong knowledge of compliance programme design, risk assessment and remediation.
• Ability to translate complex compliance requirements into practical business solutions.
• Strong analytical skills and data-driven insight to identify risks and opportunities.
• Excellent written, verbal, influencing and presentation skills.
• Ability to build trusted relationships with senior leadership.

Responsibilities

• Lead and continuously develop the NGET Compliance Programme, embedding ethics and accountability.
• Develop and maintain a risk-based compliance framework for regulatory obligations.
• Identify and assess current and emerging compliance risks using data and audit findings.
• Oversee compliance training, communications and engagement across NGET.
• Ensure compliance issues and gaps are identified, escalated and remediated with stakeholders.
• Provide transparent reporting and assurance to senior leadership and governance bodies.
