Job summary

National Grid is seeking a Lead Policy Engineer to join our Asset Operations Policy Team. This hybrid role supports policy development across substations, overhead lines and transmission assets, ensuring safety, compliance and effective operations.

You'll translate legislative requirements into practical guidance for frontline teams, advise engineers and senior leaders, and drive policy cadence with stakeholders across the business.

Qualifications

• Engineering, operational or technical background in safety-critical infrastructure.
• Experience developing, implementing or applying operational procedures, standards or policies.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development, review and implementation of policies and procedures for Asset Operations across the transmission network.
• Translate legislation, regulatory requirements and company standards into practical guidance for operational teams.
• Provide expert advice on SHES matters to engineers, operational teams and leaders.
