Job summary

Rainfordberry Recruitment has a client-facing, director-level Head of Commercial role in central London. You will lead a team of Quantity Surveyors, manage client relationships, and oversee pre-construction to delivery on retail and banking refurbishments.

You will be responsible for margin, commercial performance, and reporting, with a strong emphasis on people leadership and delivering high-quality projects nationwide.

Qualifications

Job description

A client facing, team managing, Head of Commercial with experience of working on retail or banking refurbishments, is required for a market leading group of construction companies.

The organisation has an enviable list of brand names amongst its client-base and the Head of Commercial will join a team dedicated to delivering high-quality refurbishments in the banking sector. The projects will be a mix of retail sites and regional / head offices. The Head of Commercial will manage a team of Quantity Surveyors who will look after projects across the country.

Suitable candidates will be able to point to impressive CVs, detailing the projects that they have helped to deliver and teams that they have managed. They will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, for, as stated, this role is very client facing and is team managing.

Key responsibilities

• Strong people management skills, leading and developing an accountable commercial team.
• Strong pre-construction experience, preferably in retail and ideally banking.
• Resilient, taking full accountability for commercial performance, margin and reporting.
• Strong client relationship management.
• Oversight of the transition from pre-construction into commercial administration and delivery.
