SandboxAQ is seeking a hands-on Manager, AI Engineering to lead a small, highly technical team and ship production-grade AI features. You will shape technical direction, own end-to-end delivery, and mentor engineers while staying hands-on in ML and security aspects.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience leading AI engineering teams.
• Strong background in ML, security, and software engineering.
• Ability to ship production-ready AI features and guardrails.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow a small, highly technical team while remaining deeply involved in hands-on engineering and research.
• Set technical direction, break down ambiguous problems, and drive fast, high-quality execution.
• Create agentic capabilities, including monitoring, guardrailing, and evaluating agents.
• Perform classical ML tasks and rapidly iterate on prototypes and features.
• Collaborate with Product and Research to translate AI research into software projects.
• Contribute production-ready code and designs for scalable systems.
