Job summary

Scale AI is building an agent sandboxing platform—a secure, high-performance code execution layer powering agentic workflows across internal and customer-managed environments. As a Software Engineer on the AI Infrastructure team, you will design and evolve the sandboxing platform and client library, ensuring strong isolation, reproducibility, and low latency at scale.

You will work closely with internal teams to balance immediate needs with long-term architecture and help ships end-to-end

Qualifications

• 4+ years building high-performance systems software and APIs
• Deep understanding of Linux process isolation, memory management, cgroups, namespaces
• Experience with containerisation and virtualization tech (Docker, Firecracker, gVisor, QEMU)
• Proficiency in Go, Rust, or C/C++ for systems development
• Focus on developer experience via clean APIs, good docs and error handling

Responsibilities

• Design and build the sandboxing platform, client library, and API surface for secure code execution across containerized and virtualized environments
• Ensure strong isolation, security, and reproducibility of execution across user sessions and workloads
• Optimize cold-start latency, memory footprint, and resource utilisation at scale
• Reduce error rates via debugging, monitoring, and preventive fixes
• Collaborate with internal teams to understand use cases and roadmap
• Lead end-to-end projects from design through deployment in cross-functional settings
