Job summary

The Wordsworth Inn in Grasmere, part of The Inn Collection Group, is opening with 55 bedrooms and a busy, food-led operation. We’re seeking a Head Housekeeper to lead a team, maintain high cleanliness standards, and ensure a warm, welcoming environment for guests.

You’ll manage room and public area cleaning, train staff, report maintenance, and liaise with the General Manager to keep operations smooth. If you’re detail‑driven, calm under pressure, and enjoy hospitality, apply to join our opening

Responsibilities

• Oversee cleaning of rooms and public areas to high standards
• Promptly report maintenance issues and coordinate repairs
• Manage linen, supplies and inventory
• Train and mentor new and existing housekeeping staff
• Follow safety guidelines and contribute to a safe, welcoming environment
• Provide regular updates to the General Manager to ensure smooth operations

You’ll Fit Right Inn

As Head Housekeeper, you’ll bring your friendly, detail-oriented nature to the role, ensuring a spotless, welcoming environment. Calm under pressure, you’ll exceed guest expectations by reacting promptly to requests and maintaining high standards throughout.

As part of the Housekeeping team, you’ll guide with professionalism, punctuality, and a keen eye for detail. Your duties will include overseeing the cleaning of rooms and public areas, promptly reporting maintenance issues, managing linen and supplies, and training new and existing staff. You’ll follow safety guidelines, work closely with the team to create memorable visits, and provide regular updates to the General Manager to ensure smooth operations.
