Job description

We are looking for a Head Cook to prepare nourishing and well-presented meals. The role involves creating seasonal menus based on input from residents, families, and management, considering dietary requirements, and maintaining a clean, regulation-compliant kitchen.

Rate of Pay: To be discussed at interview

Contract Type: Permanent

Contract Hours: Full time

Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Compile seasonal menus with input from residents, families, and the Home Manager, ensuring variety and suitability for residents' backgrounds, cultures, and dietary needs.
  2. Deliver excellence in meal times, dining experience, and presentation.
  3. Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in the kitchen, ensuring food safety and compliance with health & safety regulations.
  4. Manage finances effectively, adhering to budgets.
  5. Manage and develop the kitchen team, including supervision, appraisals, and onboarding new staff.
Essential Skills, Characteristics, and Experience:
  • Must hold a Food Hygiene Certificate Level 2 or above.
