Job summary

Barranco Lounge, part of Loungers, is hiring a hands-on Head Chef to lead the kitchen on a full-time basis. You’ll own the kitchen from open to close, build a motivated team and drive high standards in a busy café bar.

You’ll develop your team, ensure menu specs are executed, manage stock and GP, and work with front of house to create a true one-team culture. There’s real progression through in-house training and a competitive bonus scheme.

Qualifications

• Lead a kitchen team with clear development plans.
• Ensure food standards and GP KPIs are met.
• Coach KPs, Chefs and Sous Chefs for progression.

Responsibilities

• Take full ownership of the kitchen at Barranco Lounge, leading every shift from open to close.
• Recruit, develop and coach kitchen staff at all levels with honest feedback.
• Know menu specs and processes inside out to ensure quality on every dish.
• Own site-level action plans for wait times, stock counts and cleaning.
• Deliver on KPIs like quality, wait times, wastage and food safety.
• Schedule fair rotas aligned with sales and bookings.
• Collaborate with front-of-house to build a one-team culture.
