The Mill on the Exe is seeking a Head Chef to join our kitchen team in Exeter. You will lead a busy kitchen, manage daily operations, and ensure high-quality, locally sourced dishes delight our guests.

We value organisation, passion, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment while driving menu excellence and meeting budgets and sales targets.

Qualifications

• Head Chef with experience of working in a fast-paced environment.
• Lead a dedicated kitchen team to deliver quality food that delights guests.
• Work with locally sourced produce to create great dishes.
• Understand budgets and sales targets and help achieve them.

Responsibilities

• Oversee front of the kitchen and back of house teams, delivering quality food.
• Maintain consistent, high-quality offerings and menu standards.
• Lead, organise and develop the kitchen team with passion and adaptability.
• Balance product knowledge with daily operations in a busy kitchen.

The Mill on the Exe is a contemporary pub with comfy rooms that enjoys a tranquil riverside location on the outskirts of Exeter city centre.
Nestled beside the gardens that run alongside Blackaller Weir and the Millstone footbridge, it’s easy to feel completely transported from the hustle and bustle of urban life here. You’ll be working in a picturesque corner of the city, with a wealth of things to see and do lying mere moments away.
