Job summary

The Mill on the Exe, a contemporary pub with comfy rooms by the riverside near Exeter, is seeking a committed Commis Chef to join our kitchen team. You’ll assist in food preparation, work with locally sourced produce, and help maintain high standards during busy service.

You’ll be well supported by a friendly brigade, with great training and opportunities to progress in a welcoming environment that values quality and consistency.

Qualifications

• Experience working in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
• Ability to work well within a team and follow recipes precisely.
• Willingness to learn and develop culinary skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation and cooking of menu dishes.
• Maintain cleanliness and adhere to kitchen procedures during service.

The Mill on the Exe is a contemporary pub with comfy rooms that enjoys a tranquil riverside location on the outskirts of Exeter city centre. Nestled beside the gardens that run alongside Blackaller Weir and the Millstone footbridge, it’s easy to feel completely transported from the hustle and bustle of urban life here. You’ll be working in a picturesque corner of the city, with a wealth of things to see and do lying mere moments away.

Are you an enthusiastic Commis chef with experience of working in a fast-paced environment? Join our talented kitchen team and you’ll be working alongside passionate people, cooking with locally sourced produce to provide quality food that delights our guests. As a commis chef you will be assisting in the preparation of food, working as part of the team ensuring the correct procedures are followed and specifications for each dish are precisely met.
