Job summary

Samuel Jones Exeter is a stylish bar and restaurant in Exeter, serving contemporary dishes with award-winning beers in a welcoming atmosphere. You will join a popular kitchen team on the quay, delivering high-quality food to guests in a fast-paced environment.

As Sous Chef, you will support the Head Chef in guiding the kitchen, ensuring precise dish specifications are met, and using flexible menu-writing processes to meet business needs and guest expectations.

Qualifications

• Well organised and adaptable with a genuine interest in food.
• Careful with kitchen cleanliness, tidiness and safety.
• Ability to keep kitchen running efficiently even at peak times.
• Confident user of stock management systems.

Responsibilities

• Support Head Chef in leading the kitchen team and ensuring procedures are followed.
• Ensure correct dish specifications are met and menus can be adapted as needed.
• Assist with maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety in the kitchen.
• Contribute to stock control and efficient kitchen operations.

You’ll be working at a popular bar and restaurant that’s found on one of the city’s most pleasing stretches, with a wealth of enviable sights and destinations on the doorstep.

Are you aversatileSous Chef with experience of working in a fast-paced environment? Join our talented kitchen team and you’ll be working alongside passionate people, with locally sourced produce, to provide high quality food that delights our guests. As Sous Chef, you will support your Head Chef in leading our talented kitchen team while ensuring the correct procedures are followed and specifications for each dish are precisely met. You will utilise the flexibility enabled by our menu writing processes, to help adapt our offer to meet the needs of our business and our guests.
