Job summary

Avery Healthcare Group is seeking a Head Chef for Camberley Heights Care Home. You will lead the kitchen team, ensuring nutritionally balanced meals within budget and following IDDSI guidance for modified diets.

You will oversee food orders, stock control, and supervise the Host team, while training staff and maintaining high culinary standards for residents. DBS check is required and right to work in the UK must be demonstrated.

Qualifications

• Relevant catering qualification: City & Guilds 706/1 and 706/2, or NVQ.
• Two years managing a culinary team in care or hospitality.
• Budget control expertise.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the culinary team to deliver nutritionally balanced meals within budget.
• Prepare modified diets following IDDSI guidance.
• Place orders with approved suppliers and control stock and spend.
• Supervise kitchen staff and the Host team.

Job description

Head Chef post at Camberley Heights Care Home, one of the care homes run by Avery Healthcare Group. The role leads the kitchen team in producing balanced meals within budget, including modified diets that follow IDDSI guidance. It sits in a care home setting and includes supervising kitchen staff and the Host team. A DBS check is required, and proof of right to work in the UK must be shown.

What the job involves

• Manage and lead the culinary team to deliver nutritionally balanced, high-quality catering within budget
• Prepare modified diets that are appealing, well-balanced and follow IDDSI guidance
• Place food orders with approved suppliers within authority levels, controlling stock and spend
• Supervise and direct kitchen staff and the Host team
• Instruct and demonstrate simple food preparation to unqualified staff
• Work safely, assessing risk in tasks and in moving and handling loads, with regard to the safety of residents, visitors and staff
