Job description

This Head Chef post sits in the kitchen at Lady Jane Court Care Home, run by Avery Healthcare Group. It includes preparing modified diets to IDDSI standards, ordering supplies from approved suppliers and supervising kitchen and Host staff. What the job involves

• Manage and lead a culinary team providing nutritionally balanced, high-quality meals within budget
• Prepare modified diets that look appealing, are well balanced and follow IDDSI guidance
• Place food orders with approved suppliers within agreed budget limits and stock controls
• Supervise and direct kitchen staff and the Host team
• Instruct and demonstrate simple food preparation to unqualified staff
• Practise safe systems of work, including risk-assessed moving and handling

What’s required

Qualifications

• Relevant catering qualification: City & Guilds 706/1 and 706/2, or an NVQ
