Job summary

Avery Healthcare Group is seeking a Sous Chef at Aldridge Care Home to support the head chef and lead a culinary team in delivering nutritionally balanced, high-quality meals within budget. You will prepare IDDSI-modified diets and supervise staff under the head chef's direction, ensuring high hygiene standards.

The role requires a catering qualification and at least 1 year of catering experience. You will cover varied duties at short notice while upholding the company’s food safety management

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of catering experience.
• Relevant catering qualification or equivalent.
• Ability to supervise and train unqualified staff and cover varied duties at short notice.

• Support culinary team members in understanding the Avery food safety management system.

Job description

Sous Chef at Aldridge Care Home, run by Avery Healthcare Group, a luxury elderly care provider. The post supports the head chef in leading a culinary team that delivers nutritionally balanced, high-quality meals within budget, including modified diets prepared to IDDSI guidance. It is a supervisory kitchen role, instructing unqualified staff on simple food preparation and applying the company's food safety management system. Candidates need a relevant catering qualification and a year's catering experience, and must cover varied duties at short notice.

What the job involves

Qualifications
