Thiess is hiring a Heavy Diesel Fitter to join our maintenance team on a 14/7 roster. You will service and repair a range of heavy mobile equipment, including CAT and Komatsu models, in line with Thiess documentation and safety standards.

The role requires a trade qualification and at least 5 years of post-trade mining experience, with a focus on reliability, safety, and high workmanship standards. Camp facilities and flights from your capital city are provided where applicable.

Qualifikationen

• Trade qualification as Heavy Duty Diesel Fitter or equivalent.
• Minimum of 5 years post-trade experience in mining or Heavy Earth Moving.
• Experience in servicing, repairs and maintenance of heavy mobile equipment.

Aufgaben

• Perform servicing, repair and maintenance of mobile fleet (CAT 793, 16M, 994, Komatsu WA1200, Liebherr T264 and others).
• Source technical information from manuals, bulletins, OEM guides and computer-based systems.
• Carry out pre-start checks and maintain high housekeeping standards.

About the role

As our next HME Heavy Diesel Fitter to proudly represent our Maintenance Team on a 14/7 roster, you will live for challenges and thrive on the variety of work available. Like all of us at Thiess, you’re a passionate and energetic person, that appreciates responsibility, recognition and reward.

In this role, you will:

• Work a 14/7 Roster, 7 Days and 7 Nights, 12 hours shifts
• Perform the servicing, repair and maintenance of mobile fleet including CAT 793, 16M, 994, Komatsu WA1200, Liebherr T264 and other equipment in accordance with Thiess servicing, lubrication and maintenance systems documentation
• Completing general maintenance, breakdowns, services and component change outs to a high standard
• Source technical information from the relevant available reference manuals, technical bulletins, OEM and computer bases systems
• Setting and maintaining high housekeeping standards
• Carrying out pre-start checks

About you

• Trade qualification as Heavy Duty Diesel Fitter or equivalent
• Minimum of 5 years post trade experience in mining or Heavy Earth Moving induction
• Experience in general maintenance, breakdowns, component change outs and servicing of CAT, Komatsu and Liebherr
• Experience in vehicle air conditioning systems (desirable)
• HR drivers licence (desirable)
• Proven compliance and commitment to health and safety at all times
