Job summary

Thiess is seeking a Grader Operator to join our Production Mining Team. You will operate CAT 16, 18 and 24M graders in a demanding mining production environment, focusing on safety, efficiency and accuracy.

The role offers a 2:1 roster (7D7N14RR) with FIFO from Perth to Iron Bridge Mine, permanent full-time status and development opportunities. A valid Australian driver's license is required, with commitment to high housekeeping and design parameter tolerances.

Qualifications

• Equivalent experience with CAT 16, 18 & 24M graders in mining production.
• Strong commitment to health and safety in mining operations.
• Valid Australian driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Operate machinery safely and efficiently to maximise output.
• Follow Thiess policies and procedures.
• Take instructions from Mining Supervisor.
• Maintain floor levels and pit configurations.
• Minimise dilution and meet design tolerances.
• Maintain stockpiles, dumps and haul roads for safe flow.
• Move material to prepare areas and roads.
• Maintain high housekeeping standards.
• Carry out pre-start checks.

• Equivalent experience with CAT 16, 18 & 24M Graders in a mining production operation - 3-5 years
• 2:1 roster (7D7N14RR) | FIFO Perth to Iron Bridge Mine

In this role, you will:

• Operating machinery efficiently, safely, and competently to ensure maximum output
• Complying with Thiess’ policies and procedures
• Responding to instructions from Mining Supervisor
• Ensuring floor levels are maintained
• Minimising dilution and achieving design parameters within acceptable tolerances
• Maintain stockpiles, dumps and haul roads to ensure flow in a safe and efficient manner
• Operate, drive and move material as directed to prepare operating areas and roads
• Setting and maintain high housekeeping standards
• Carrying out pre-start checks

About you

• Possess strong mining operational skills and be able to demonstrate your ability in maintaining pit floors and bunds in a mining production environment
• Sound knowledge and understanding of ore mark ups and pit configuration
• Proven compliance and commitment to health and safety at all times
• Valid Australian drivers license
