Job summary

Thiess is recruiting a Multiskilled Operator for the Production Mining Team. The role offers challenging daily tasks, a 2:1 roster on site, and development opportunities. You will work FIFO from Perth to Iron Bridge Mine with salary sacrifice options available and BIBO for Port Hedland residents.

The successful candidate will have 3 years of Grader/Excavator (up to 75t) experience and a strong focus on safety, housekeeping and operating efficiency.

Qualifications

• 3 years experience operating a Grader and Excavator (up to 75t) in a production mining operation.
• Equivalent or specific experience operating Loader and Grader with attachments is desirable.
• Demonstrated safety focus and commitment to health and safety.

Responsibilities

• Operate machinery efficiently, safely and competently to maximise output.
• Comply with site policies and procedures at all times.
• Respond to instructions from Mining Supervisor.
• Operate, drive and move material to prepare areas and roads.
• Set and maintain high housekeeping standards.
• Carry out pre-start checks on equipment.

In this role, you will:

• Operating machinery efficiently, safely, and competently to ensure maximum output
• Complying with Thiess’ policies and procedures
• Responding to instructions from Mining Supervisor
• Operate, drive and move material as directed to prepare operating areas and roads
• Setting and maintain high housekeeping standards
• Carrying out pre-start checks

About you

• 3 years experience operating a Grader and Excavator (up to 75t) in a production mining operation
• Equivalent or specific experience operating;
  Loader - CAT 980 Excavator - up to 75t including Rockbreaker attachment Grader 16M - desirable
• Possess strong mining operational skills and be able to demonstrate your ability in maintaining windrows, spillage, general road, pit and mining maintenance
• Sound knowledge and understanding of mining operations
• Proven compliance and commitment to health and safety at all times
