Job summary

Flogas Britain is hiring a Hazardous Area Electrician to build bespoke LPG refuelling stations and maintain the network across the UK. You’ll work from our Staveley facility and at customer sites, performing inspections, testing, and upgrades.

You’ll need an accredited apprenticeship, 18th edition, and IECEx/EX qualifications, with a focus on safe electrical installations and fault finding. Excellent communication and IT skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Accredited apprenticeship or comparable qualification (JIB Graded Gold card or above).
• Compex EX01-4 or IECEx COPC EX001-8 modules.
• C&G 2391/2391-52 or 2394/2395 (Inspection & Testing).
• C&G 2382-22 18th Edition.
• CCSNG/JIB/SSSTS or equivalent Safety passport.
• BS7671:2018 18th Edition Level 3 electrical installations.
• Excellent IT literacy (Excel & Office).
• Strong written and verbal communication.
• Fault finding and problem-solving skills.
• IECEx/Atex rated equipment prep & installation.
• SWA cables, conduit, metal trunking installation.
• Schematic/Loop/P&ID/zone drawings understanding.
• Control systems fault finding understanding.

Responsibilities

• Wiring from starter to motor on skids at the Staveley facility and preparing documentation.
• Installing supply cables into forklift skid units at customer sites and performing initial inspections.
• Carrying out electrical inspections and rectifications on forklift installations UK-wide.
• Liaising with customers to arrange inspections and address non-compliances.
• Performing electrical inspections, rectifications and plant upgrades as required.

How you’ll power our business as a Hazardous Area Electrician.

As a Hazardous Area Electrician with Flogas, you will be responsible for building bespoke LPG refuelling stations such as FLT at our manufacturing facility in Staveley, as well as installing and maintaining the network throughout the UK. Additionally, you will support other installations and inspections on customer and internal projects.

Here’s What You’ll Be Doing

• Wiring up from a starter to the motor on our skids at our manufacturing facility in Staveley, Derbyshire and prepping documentation from templates.
• Installing supply cables into the Flogas forklift truck skid units at customer sites as well as carrying out initial inspections before being put into service.
• Carrying out Electrical inspections and rectification work to customers Forklift Truck installations throughout the UK.
• Liaising with customers to arrange inspections and subsequently speaking to them to rectify non compliances found from inspections
• When required Carrying out Electrical inspections, rectification work and full plant upgrades to Flogas installations throughout the UK.

What we’ll need from you as a Hazardous Area Electrician

• Accredited apprenticeship or comparable qualification (JIB Graded Gold card or above)
• Compex modules EX01-4 or IECEx COPC Modules EX001-8
• C&G 2391 or, 2391-52 or, 2394 & 2395 Inspection and Testing
• C&G 2382-22 18TH Edition
• CCSNG/JIB/SSSTS or equivalent Safety passport.
• Level 3 requirements for electrical installations-BS7671:2018. 18th edition
• High level of IT literacy, particularly Microsoft Excel & Office.
• Committed, persuasive and personable with fluent written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent Fault finding and problem-solving skills
• Proficient in the preparation and installation of IECEx/Atex rated equipment, including motors, control stations, junction boxes and lighting.
• Proficient in the installation of Metal Trunking, conduit, and tray, SWA cables and glands. LV distribution equipment and ancillaries
• Good understanding of schematic, Loop, P&ID, and zone drawings.
• Good understanding of control systems and fault finding.
