Job summary

Exertis (UK) Ltd. is seeking a Hazardous Area Electrician to join their team in Knowsley. The role involves building bespoke LPG refuelling stations and installing customer LPG/LNG plants throughout the UK.

The ideal candidate should have an accredited apprenticeship, strong problem-solving and electrical inspection skills, and high IT literacy. The position offers a comprehensive benefits package, including a company van and enhanced pension scheme.

Qualifications

• Accredited apprenticeship or comparable qualification (JIB Graded Gold card or above).
• Knowledge of Complex modules EX01‑4 or IECEx COPC Modules EX001‑8.
• Competent in C&G 2391 or, 2391‑52 or, 2394 & 2395 inspection and testing.
• Understanding of C&G 2382‑22 18th Edition.
• CCSNG/JIB/SSSTS or equivalent safety passport.
• Level 3 requirements for electrical installations – BS7671:2018, 18th edition.
• Proficient in preparation and installation of IECEx/ATEX-rated equipment.
• Good understanding of schematic, loop, P&ID, and zone drawings.

Hazardous Area Electrician

Contract Type: Permanent

Location: GB, L34 9EU

Responsibilities

• Build bespoke LPG refuelling stations such as FLT at the manufacturing facility in Staveley, Derbyshire.
• Install new customer LPG/LNG plants throughout the UK.
• Carry out electrical inspections and rectification work on customer installations across the UK.
• Perform electrical inspections, rectification work and full plant upgrades for Flogas installations throughout the UK.
• Assemble LPG vaporizers, pump skid units and package boiler houses off‑site.

Qualifications

• Accredited apprenticeship or comparable qualification (JIB Graded Gold card or above).
• Knowledge of Complex modules EX01‑4 or IECEx COPC Modules EX001‑8.
• Competent in C&G 2391 or, 2391‑52 or, 2394 & 2395 inspection and testing.

• Proficient in the installation of metal trunking, conduit, and tray, SWA cables and glands, LV distribution equipment and ancillaries.
• Good understanding of schematic, loop, P&ID, and zone drawings.
• Good understanding of control systems and fault‑finding.
