Job summary

Flogas is seeking a Hazardous Area Electrician to build bespoke LPG refuelling stations and install across the UK. Based at our manufacturing facility in Staveley, you will install, inspect, and upgrade electrical systems for forklift skid units and related equipment, ensuring compliance and safety.

You’ll work from starter to motor, carry out inspections, liaise with customers, and support broader installations nationwide, bringing high IT literacy and strong fault-finding to a busy energy

Qualifications

• Accredited apprenticeship or comparable qualification (JIB Graded Gold card or above).
• Compex EX01-4 or IECEx COPC Modules EX001-8.
• C&G 2391 or 2391-52 or 2394 & 2395 Inspection and Testing.
• C&G 2382-22 18th Edition.
• CCSNG/JIB/SSSTS or equivalent Safety passport.
• Level 3 requirements for electrical installations-BS7671:2018. 18th edition.
• High level of IT literacy, particularly Microsoft Excel & Office.

Responsibilities

• Wiring up from a starter to the motor on our skids at the Staveley facility and prepping documentation.
• Installing supply cables into forklift skid units at customer sites and performing initial inspections.
• Carrying out electrical inspections and rectification work on forklift truck installations across the UK.
• Liaising with customers to arrange inspections and rectify non-compliances.
• Carrying out electrical inspections, rectification work and full plant upgrades to Flogas installations throughout the UK.

Howyou’llpower our business as a Hazardous Area Electrician.

As a Hazardous Area Electrician with Flogas, you will be responsible for building bespoke LPG refuelling stations such as FLT at our manufacturing facility in Staveley, as well as installing and maintaining the network throughout the UK. Additionally, you will support other installations and inspections on customer and internal projects.

Here’swhatyou’llbe doing

• Wiring up from a starter to the motor on our skids at our manufacturing facility in Staveley, Derbyshire and prepping documentation from templates.
• Installing supply cables into the Flogas forklift truck skid units at customer sites as well as carrying out initial inspections before being put into service.
• Carrying out Electrical inspections and rectification work to customers Forklift Truck installations throughout the UK.
• Liaising with customers to arrange inspections and subsequently speaking to them to rectify non compliances found from inspections
• When required Carrying out Electrical inspections, rectification work and full plant upgrades to Flogas installations throughout the UK.

What we’ll need from you as a Hazardous Area Electrician

• Accredited apprenticeship or comparable qualification (JIB Graded Gold card or above)
• Compex modules EX01-4 or IECEx COPC Modules EX001-8
• C&G 2391 or, 2391-52 or, 2394 & 2395 Inspection and Testing
• C&G 2382-22 18TH Edition
• CCSNG/JIB/SSSTS or equivalent Safety passport.
• Level 3 requirements for electrical installations-BS7671:2018. 18th edition
• High level of IT literacy, particularly Microsoft Excel & Office.
• Committed, persuasive and personable with fluent written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent Fault finding and problem-solving skills
• Proficient in the preparation and installation of IECEx/Atex rated equipment, including motors, control stations, junction boxes and lighting.
• Proficient in the installation of Metal Trunking, conduit, and tray, SWA cables and glands. LV distribution equipment and ancillaries
• Good understanding of schematic, Loop, P&ID, and zone drawings.
• Good understanding of control systems and fault finding.
