Avara Foods Ltd. is seeking a Hatchery Operative at our Quainton hatchery in Buckinghamshire. No prior experience is required as full training is provided, with a guaranteed 41-hour week and overtime opportunities.

You will assist in sorting chicks, moving eggs through the hatchery process, and maintaining strict biosecurity and welfare standards on site. Training starts immediately and a secure contract with benefits is offered.

Qualifications

• Good level of English and basic numeracy.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Attention to detail and a flexible attitude to tasks.
• Full training provided; prior experience not required.

About the Role:

Working Hours

Monday & Tuesday 06:00-16:00
Wednesday 06:00-12:30
Thursday & Friday 06:00-15:30
(41 hours per week)

About the role

As a Hatchery Operative, working as a part of the Hatchery Team, you’ll help assist the hatchery and play a key role in the daily duties which are fundamental to our entire business.

• Ensuring chicks are sorted into the required grades and quantities, ready for farm delivery
• Assisting in the effective movement of eggs from storage to incubating machines and then to hatching machines
• Cleaning all equipment after use to the required high standards
• Safeguarding bio security and following these strict procedures
• Observing bird welfare and health and safety on site at all times

• Relevant experience is desirable, but not essential as full training is provided
