Job summary

Avara Foods Ltd. is hiring a Hatchery Operative at our Quainton hatchery in Buckinghamshire. No prior experience is required as full training is provided, with secure contract and guaranteed hours. The role includes working early hours and potential overtime, with on-site parking available.

Join our team to help sort chicks, move eggs through stages, and maintain strict bio-security and welfare standards on site.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring chicks are sorted into the required grades and quantities, ready for farm delivery.
• Assisting in the movement of eggs from storage to incubating machines and then to hatching machines.
• Cleaning all equipment after use to the required high standards.
• Safeguarding bio security and following strict procedures.
• Observing bird welfare and health and safety on site at all times.

About the Role

We’re looking for a Hatchery Operative to join our team at our Hatchery in Quainton, Buckinghamshire! No experience necessary, full training is provided!

Working Hours

Mon & Tue 06:00-15:00 (16 hours per week)

Responsibilities

• Ensuring chicks are sorted into the required grades and quantities, ready for farm delivery
• Assisting in the effective movement of eggs from storage to incubating machines and then to hatching machines
• Cleaning all equipment after use to the required high standards
• Safeguarding bio security and following these strict procedures
• Observing bird welfare and health and safety on site at all times

Qualifications

• A good level of English and basic numeracy skills
• Good teamwork and communication skills
• Attention to detail and a flexible attitude to tasks
• Relevant experience is desirable, but not essential as full training is provided

Requirements

Due to Bird Welfare, it is essential that you do not own any Avian Pets or Poultry.
