Job summary

Avara Foods Limited is recruiting a Hatchery Operative for our hatchery in Quainton, Buckinghamshire. No experience needed as full training is provided; the role starts with 41 hours per week and fixed early-morning shifts.

You will assist in hatchery operations, sort chicks, move eggs through the process, and help maintain biosecurity and bird welfare while contributing to an efficient poultry supply chain.

Qualifications

• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Flexible attitude; training provided.

Responsibilities

About the Role:

We’re looking for a Hatchery Operative to join our team at our Hatchery in Quainton, Buckinghamshire!

Working Hours

Monday & Tuesday 06:00-16:00
Wednesday 06:00-12:30
Thursday & Friday 06:00-15:30
(41 hours per week)

About the role

As a Hatchery Operative, working as a part of the Hatchery Team, you’ll help assist the hatchery and play a key role in the daily duties which are fundamental to our entire business.

• Ensuring chicks are sorted into the required grades and quantities, ready for farm delivery
• Assisting in the effective movement of eggs from storage to incubating machines and then to hatching machines
• Cleaning all equipment after use to the required high standards
• Safeguarding bio security and following these strict procedures
• Observing bird welfare and health and safety on site at all times

What are we looking for?

• A good level of English and basic numeracy skills

• Attention to detail and a flexible attitude to tasks
• Relevant experience is desirable, but not essential as full training is provided
