Job summary

Avara Foods in Quainton, Buckinghamshire, is looking for a Hatchery Operative to join our Hatchery Team. No experience needed as full training is provided, and you will help with daily duties essential to our business. You'll work 16 hours a week on Monday and Tuesday 06:00-15:00, with opportunities for overtime and guaranteed hours.

We offer training from day one, secure contract, and on-site parking. This role focuses on sorting chicks, moving eggs through incubation, and upholding biosecurity

Qualifications

  • A good level of English and basic numeracy skills.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • Attention to detail with a flexible approach to tasks.
  • Relevant experience is not required as full training is provided.

Responsibilities

  • Sort chicks into the required grades and quantities for farm delivery.
  • Assist in moving eggs from storage to incubating and then to hatching machines.
  • Clean all equipment after use to required high standards.
  • Safeguard biosecurity and follow strict procedures.
  • Observe bird welfare and health and safety on site.

We’re looking for a Hatchery Operative to join our team at our Hatchery in Quainton, Buckinghamshire! No experience necessary, full training is provided!

About the Role

As a Hatchery Operative, working as a part of the Hatchery Team, you’ll help assist the hatchery and play a key role in the daily duties which are fundamental to our entire business.

  • Ensuring chicks are sorted into the required grades and quantities, ready for farm delivery
  • Assisting in the effective movement of eggs from storage to incubating machines and then to hatching machines
  • Cleaning all equipment after use to the required high standards
  • Safeguarding bio security and following these strict procedures
  • Observing bird welfare and health and safety on site at all times
