Job summary

The Access Group in Wolverhampton is seeking a hands-on hardware support professional to join our on-site team. You will configure, deploy and troubleshoot devices, manage stock, and work with our service desk and suppliers to deliver a reliable customer experience.

You will operate in a collaborative office environment, handling multiple tasks, maintaining device inventories, and ensuring timely delivery of hardware orders while upholding our high standards of service and security.

Qualifications

  • Experience handling hardware from vendors like HP, Dell, or Lenovo.
  • Knowledge of OS deployment, device imaging and diagnostic tools.
  • Relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+ or vendor-specific accreditations.
  • Experience working within SLAs and using ticketing systems to document and track work.
  • On-site role at Wolverhampton office.

Responsibilities

  • Configure, build and deploy customer hardware, including laptops, desktops, routers, switches and firewalls, ensuring orders are delivered accurately and on time.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware-related issues, working closely with customers, the service desk and third-party suppliers to provide a smooth support experience.
  • Manage workshop operations including goods received, stock control, device repairs, secure disposal processes and inventory management through ConnectWise.
  • Support managed device services, contribute to standard device builds and remote management tools, and identify opportunities to improve service quality, efficiency and customer satisfaction.

About you:

You enjoy solving problems and take pride in delivering a great service to customers. You’re organised, hands-on and comfortable managing multiple tasks at once, from preparing devices and resolving hardware issues to keeping stock accurate and up to date.

You’re someone who enjoys working as part of a team, building strong relationships with colleagues, customers and suppliers. You take ownership of your work, communicate clearly and are always looking for ways to improve how things are done. You’re also keen to keep learning and stay up to date with new technology and industry best practice.

Day-to-day, you will:
