Job summary

BrainoTech IT Solutions is seeking a Hardware Deployment Engineer (L1) to join our on-site deployment team. You will install and test IT hardware and peripherals according to BOMs, including kiosks, timeclocks, tablets, monitors, badge readers and PoE equipment, ensuring safe installation and proper handover to site representatives.

This role requires meticulous documentation, basic troubleshooting of hardware and connectivity, and willingness to travel between sites.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Field Engineer or similar hands-on role.
• Strong IT hardware installation and deployment experience.
• Experience with kiosks, tablets, monitors, peripherals, badge readers, PoE, and USB devices.
• Ability to work with BOMs and troubleshoot basic hardware/connectivity issues.
• Good documentation and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently on customer sites.
• Willingness to travel and a valid driving licence.
• Relevant IT/networking qualification or certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Receive, verify, and install IT hardware according to the BOM.
• Install timeclocks, kiosks, thin clients, tablets, monitors and related equipment.
• Perform power-on checks, functionality testing, and basic troubleshooting.
• Report missing or faulty equipment and document completed work.
• Travel between designated sites and provide site handover.

About the Role

The Hardware Deployment Engineer (L1) is responsible for on-site installation, deployment, testing, and basic troubleshooting of IT hardware and peripherals. The role involves working from BOMs, installing devices such as kiosks, timeclocks, tablets, monitors, badge readers, and PoE equipment, while ensuring accurate documentation, safe installation, and successful handover to site representatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Receive, verify, and install IT hardware according to the Bill of Materials (BOM).
• Install timeclocks, kiosks, thin clients, tablets, monitors, peripherals, badge readers, and related equipment.
• Install PoE splitters, USB docks, Safetrust/JSON readers, and other site equipment.
• Perform physical connections, power-on checks, functionality testing, and basic troubleshooting.
• Support plugin installation/testing on Amazon laptops and badge reader/printing functionality.
• Report missing, damaged, or faulty equipment and document completed work.
• Carry out remedial works or return visits when required.
• Provide basic handover to site representatives and follow customer health and safety standards.
• Travel between designated sites and transport equipment when required.

Required Qualification

• Experience as a Field Engineer, Network Engineer, IT Infrastructure Engineer, or similar hands-on role.
• Strong experience in IT hardware installation and deployment.
• Experience with kiosks, tablets, monitors, peripherals, badge readers, PoE, and USB devices.
• Ability to work with BOMs and troubleshoot basic hardware/connectivity issues.
• Good documentation and communication skills.
