Job summary

Randstad CPE is seeking a practical, multi-skilled Handyman for a short-term 3-4 week contract in Folkestone. You will manage snagging, repairs, minor decorating, and fixings across the site, working independently to deliver a varied punch-list.

Ideal candidates have a proven background as a Handyman or Multi-Trader, with own tools and PPE, and strong problem-solving and customer-facing skills. CSCS and UK work rights are preferred.

Qualifications

• Proven background as Handyman, Maintenance Technician, or Multi-Trader.
• Own hand & power tools essential for general repairs and carpentry/plumbing tasks.
• CSCS Card preferred (may be required on site).
• Full PPE (Steel toe-cap boots, high-vis, safety glasses).
• Strong problem-solving ability, self-motivated, and good customer-facing skills.
• Right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out general repair work and basic carpentry (doors, ironmongery, skirting).
• Basic plumbing duties (replacing taps, fixing leaks).
• Patch plastering, painting, and decorating.
• General site fixings, furniture/fixtures, signs and basic grounds maintenance.
• Keep work areas clean, tidy, and safe for occupants or site staff.

About the Role

We are looking for a practical, multi-skilled Handyman for a short-term, 3 to 4-week contract in Folkestone.

This role is ideal for an experienced multi-trader who can work independently to work through a varied punch-list of snagging, general repairs, minor decorating, and fixings across the site/property.

Key Responsibilities

• Carrying out general repair work, basic carpentry (e.g., hanging doors, fitting ironmongery, skirting, repairs).
• Basic plumbing duties (e.g., replacing taps, fixing leaks, re-sealing baths/showers, basic pipework).
• Patch plastering, filling, touch-up painting, and basic decorating.
• General site fixings, assembling furniture/fixtures, hanging signs, and basic ground maintenance where required.
• Keeping work areas clean, tidy, and safe for occupants or site staff.

Requirements

• Proven background as a Handyman, Maintenance Technician, or Multi-Trader.
• Own hand & power tools essential for general repairs and carpentry/plumbing tasks.
• CSCS Card preferred (may be required depending on whether site is commercial or domestic).
• Full PPE (Steel toe-cap boots, high-vis, safety glasses).

Working Hours & Benefits

• Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM (40 hours per week).
• Duration: 3 to 4 weeks of consistent short-term work, starting in October.
• Pay Rate: £17.00 - £19.00 per hour (paid weekly via CIS, Umbrella, or PAYE).
