Job summary

Randstad Construction & Property in the UK is seeking a reliable Handyman to support day-to-day maintenance tasks across Hampshire sites. The role requires practical hands-on skills and a flexible approach to work.

You will carry out PPM and reactive tasks, support the helpdesk, supervise subcontractors, and help maintain safety standards, including basic plumbing, carpentry, painting, and building installations. A valid English GCSE and IOSH Working Safely are preferred.

Qualifications

• GCSEs or equivalent with grade C in English and Maths.
• IOSH Working Safely certification optional but preferred.
• Willingness to engage with day-to-day operations and adapt to a flexible approach.

Responsibilities

• Completion of PPM and reactive works activities in accordance with contract requirement.
• Support and provide expertise to assist the helpdesk and operational team.
• Supervise works carried out by specialist subcontractors and report anomalies to leads.
• Identify opportunities to self-deliver activities and maintain up-to-date records.
• Carry out basic plumbing, carpentry, painting and decorating tasks as needed.

Handyman Hampshire

We are looking for a hard working handyperson to compliment our team in Hampshire, they should be willing to get involved with day to day operations & be flexible in their approach.

Van supplied, Tools Supplied, Fuel Card Supplied, P Card Supplied, Full Corporate Work Wear Supplied, Full PPE Supplied, Tablet & Phone Supplied.

Shift - 08:00 - 17:00
Monday-Friday

Rate - 15.63 PAYE

Key Accountabilities

Completion of PPM and reactive works activities in accordance with contract requirement

To provide support and expertise to assist the helpdesk team and operational team

To supervise works carried out by specialist sub contractors, reporting anomalies to the operational leads

Work with operational leads to identify opportunities to self deliver subcontracted maintenance activities

To ensure all statutory records are available and up to date

To be aware of and have a good working understanding and practical hands on input, in the control of legionella and associated required works

Other duties include, however are not limited to:

• Post / parcel management
• Fire door checks
• Water hygiene checks- L8 checks.
• Emergency lighting checks
• Carry out daily, weekly and monthly PPM checks
• Basic plumbing tasks
• Basic electrics depending on qualifications (competency)
• Carpentry
• Painting and decorating
• Building installation and repair ( carpet fitting, repairing walls, gutter clearance and drainage)
• Clearing and tidying up common areas, plant rooms, store rooms
• Repairing safety hazards
• Putting together furniture and equipment (following manufactures guides)
• Installing appliances and machines
• Liaising with contractors and suppliers (control of permits)
• Deliveries of items (should be physically fit)
• Follow company guide lines, processes, procedures and policies
• Attend reactive break-downs
• Complete PPM regimes
• Monitor stock and start ordering procedure
• Work independently and monitor own time management
• Ensure records are up to date
• Meter readings
• Landscaping duties to keep areas neat and tidy
• Desk moves and office relocations

Qualifications

GCSE's or equivalent - Grade C in English and Maths
