Job summary

Panda Recycling UK is seeking a Plant Fitter to help keep our waste management facility running safely and efficiently. You will maintain, repair and service fixed plant and machinery, including conveyors and shredders, in a busy environment.

This hands-on role requires strong fault-finding and teamwork, with a focus on reliability and safety. You will work with maintenance and operations teams to minimise downtime and improve performance.

Qualifications

• Experience in plant maintenance, mechanical maintenance or related hands-on role.
• Knowledge of fixed plant machinery, conveyors or shredders is beneficial.
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
• Practical, hands-on approach with willingness to learn.
• Good communication and teamwork abilities.
• Commitment to health, safety and environmental standards.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out planned and reactive maintenance on fixed plant machinery and equipment.
• Inspecting, servicing and repairing conveyors, shredders and related plant systems.
• Diagnosing faults and carrying out repairs, replacements or adjustments to minimise downtime.
• Supporting preventative maintenance to improve reliability and reduce breakdowns.
• Ensuring all maintenance work is completed safely and in line with site procedures.
• Maintaining accurate records of inspections, repairs, parts used and maintenance activity.
• Working with maintenance, engineering and operations to resolve issues.
• Identifying opportunities to improve plant performance, safety and efficiency.
• Supporting a clean, safe and compliant working environment.
