Job summary

Yolk Recruitment is recruiting an Engineering Supervisor for a large manufacturing operation near Callington. This role blends hands-on maintenance with team leadership, giving you responsibility for daily workloads, priorities and engineering standards.

You'll lead a team of six maintenance engineers, work closely with production, and report to the Engineering Manager. The salary is circa £45,000-£46,000 with overtime and benefits, Monday to Friday 6:00am-3:00pm, no night shifts.

Qualifications

• Experienced maintenance engineers ready for supervisory responsibilities.
• Hands-on engineers comfortable with electrical and mechanical fault-finding.
• Apprentice-trained or Level 3 qualified engineers.
• Experience leading a small team and coordinating daily workloads.
• Background in food/manufacturing sectors preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead, support and coordinate a team of six Maintenance Engineers.
• Prioritise daily engineering workloads, breakdowns and maintenance activities.
• Remain hands-on with electrical and mechanical fault-finding, repairs and machinery maintenance.
• Support planned preventative maintenance and helping ensure engineering tasks are completed effectively.
• Work closely with production teams to minimise downtime and keep equipment running reliably.
• Support engineers with more complex breakdowns and technical problems.
• Help identify recurring equipment faults and opportunities to improve reliability.
• Promote safe working practices and maintaining engineering standards.
• Work alongside the Engineering Manager on maintenance priorities, team development and site improvements.
