Qualifications

• Significant hands-on Java engineering experience with Spring Boot microservices.
• Strong knowledge of domain-driven and event-driven design.
• Proven experience leading engineering teams through coaching and mentoring.
• Excellent knowledge of test-driven development and automated testing.
• Experience with CI/CD, modern version control workflows and software delivery pipelines.
• Secure software development, operational readiness and observability practices.
• Ability to balance technical, commercial and delivery considerations while influencing stakeholders.
• Passion for building inclusive, collaborative environments.

Responsibilities

• Leading and developing a team of engineers to deliver high-quality, secure and reliable software solutions.
• Prioritising, planning and overseeing delivery activities to achieve predictable and effective outcomes.
• Designing and building scalable, maintainable software while remaining an active hands-on engineer.
• Coaching, mentoring and supporting engineers through feedback and structured development plans.
• Embedding a culture of quality, testing and security across day-to-day engineering practices.
• Driving continuous improvement through delivery metrics, operational insights and observability data.
• Managing operational readiness, incident response processes and technical debt to maintain resilient systems.
• Collaborating with product, architecture and business stakeholders to remove blockers and deliver customer value.
