Job summary

Legal & General is looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to lead and develop a high-performing engineering team while remaining hands-on in delivering modern software solutions. You’ll work closely with engineering, product, architecture and business stakeholders to deliver secure, scalable technology that creates value for customers and the business.

We’re seeking someone with significant Java engineering experience, Spring Boot microservices, and a track record of coaching engineers.

Qualifications

• Extensive hands-on Java engineering experience with Spring Boot microservices.
• Strong understanding of modern software architecture, including domain-driven and event-driven design.
• Proven experience leading engineering teams, coaching and mentoring engineers.
• Excellent knowledge of test-driven development and automated testing.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of engineers, delivering high-quality, secure software.
• Plan delivery activities to achieve predictable outcomes and manage technical debt.
• Embed a culture of quality, testing, security and observability.
• Collaborate with product, architecture and stakeholders to remove blockers.
