Qualifications

• Significant hands-on Java engineering experience.
• Experience building and operating Spring Boot microservices.
• Strong understanding of modern software architecture principles.
• Experience leading engineering teams and developing people through coaching and mentoring.
• Knowledge of test-driven development, quality engineering practices and automated testing approaches.
• Experience with CI/CD practices, version control workflows and software delivery pipelines.
• Understanding of secure software development, operational readiness and observability practices.
• Ability to balance technical, commercial and delivery considerations while influencing stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop engineers to deliver high-quality, secure and reliable software solutions.
• Plan and oversee delivery activity to achieve predictable and effective outcomes.
• Design and build scalable, maintainable software while remaining an active hands-on engineer.
• Coach and mentor engineers through feedback and structured development plans.
• Embed quality, testing and security into day-to-day engineering practices.
• Use delivery metrics, operational insights and observability data to drive continuous improvement.
• Manage operational readiness, incident response processes and technical debt to keep systems resilient.
• Work with product, architecture and business stakeholders to remove blockers and deliver customer value.
