Job summary

Harrogate College is seeking a dedicated Hairdressing and Barbering Apprenticeship Assessor to plan, deliver and assess learning for a caseload of apprentices. You will train on-site and in workplace salons, develop ILPs, monitor progress, and conduct formal reviews every 12 weeks with learners and employers.

You will manage recruitment and onboarding of new apprentices, participate in quality assurance, and ensure timely completion while maintaining safeguarding standards and employer

Qualifications

• Level 3 Hairdressing/Barbering qualification and an Assessor Award.
• Level 2 English & Maths; IQA or teaching qualification desirable.
• Experience delivering workplace assessments and managing learner portfolios.

Responsibilities

• Deliver practical and theoretical training for hairdressing and barbering apprentices on-site and in workplaces.
• Assess and track progress using OneFile; provide feedback and complete assessment paperwork.
• Plan ILPs with milestones; conduct formal reviews every 12 weeks with apprentices and employers.
• Onboard new apprentices; recruit, enroll and collaborate with local salon employers.
• Maintain quality through IQA processes while safeguarding and promoting retention.
