Job summary

Harrogate College in Harrogate is seeking a dedicated Hairdressing and Barbering Apprenticeship Assessor to join the Apprenticeships department. You will plan, coordinate, deliver and assess learning for a caseload of apprentices, with both on-site and off-site training opportunities.

You will establish ILPs with clear milestones, monitor progress, and conduct formal reviews at least every 12 weeks while tracking vocational achievements using OneFile.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering salon-based theory and practical training.
• Portfolio management and occupational assessments experience.
• Familiar with e-portfolio systems such as OneFile.

Responsibilities

• Deliver & Teach: lead practical and theoretical training for apprentices on-site and in workplaces.
• Assess & Track: monitor progress, provide feedback, and complete assessment paperwork.
• Plan & Review: build ILPs with milestones and conduct 12-week progress reviews.
• Onboard & Collaborate: recruit, enroll, and sign up new apprentices; health and safety checks.
• Maintain Quality: participate in IQA procedures and safeguarding practices.
