Job summary

Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust is seeking a Band 7/8a Clinical/Counselling Psychologist to join the Medical Psychology Department. The post supports up to seven sessions per week (3.5 days) and focuses on the haemoglobinopathy service, with potential bank sessions across General Medical and other specialisms.

Qualifications

• Registered clinical psychologist with HCPC registration.
• Experience in haemoglobinopathy or medical psychology settings preferred.
• Ability to work across MDTs and clinics including ward rounds.

Responsibilities

• Lead psychological assessments and interventions for patients with sickle cell disease, thalassaemia and rare anaemias.
• Collaborate with MDT colleagues and contribute to annual review clinics.
• Possibly provide inpatient work, staff training and group work.
• Work one session weekly with General Medical Service and offer targeted groups.
