Responsibilities

• Deliver specialist paediatric nursing care in the community for children and young people with haemoglobinopathies and rare anaemias.
• Provide genetic counselling to children and families affected by haemoglobinopathy disorders.
• Develop self-care management plans for children, alongside school care plans.
• Provide a community-based phlebotomy service to support screening and care from birth to establish haemoglobinopathy status.
• Collaborate with families, teachers and professionals to enable participation in social and educational activities.
