Job summary

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) is seeking a Band 2 Health Care Assistant to join a busy gynaecology ward at Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, Glasgow. The role involves supporting patients with daily activities, basic nursing tasks and accurate record-keeping.

You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team on a 36-hour-per-week, full-time contract, with day/night shifts and a focus on patient safety and hygiene.

Qualifications

• Experience in a band 2 Health Care Assistant post in NHS or similar setting.
• Accurate keyboard and data entry.
• Ability to work with people and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Organise workload and work on own initiative.

Responsibilities

• Basic patient care and helping with daily ADLs.
• Catheter care and venflon management.
• Venepuncture and NEWS recording.
• Observations and MUST scoring; fluid balance and nutrition charts.
• Admin tasks and use of IT systems; LearnPro and infection control measures.
