Job summary

Halo Leisure is seeking a qualified exercise professional for Leominster Leisure Centre on a part-time basis. The role requires a Level 2 fitness qualification and relevant fitness industry experience. You will run group classes, assess and guide members, and ensure a great customer experience on shift.

Shifts are on Monday and Tuesday, 14:30–21:00, with a 12-hour weekly commitment. Salary is £12.71 per hour, with a range of benefits including pension, Halo Active membership, and development

Qualifications

• Qualified exercise professional with Level 2 fitness qualification and fitness industry experience.
• Ability to lead small group exercise classes as part of duties.
• Strong customer service and on-floor engagement skills.

Responsibilities

• Enhance customer experience and member retention, motivating exercise adherence.
• Conduct assessments, consultations and inductions with proper demonstrations.
• Perform pre-exercise screening and refer as needed to health professionals.
• Plan and supervise gym-based exercise programmes, review progress.
• Engage on the gym floor to ensure safe technique and customer rapport.
• Run small group activities using available gym equipment.
• Maintain health and safety and gym cleanliness standards.
• Provide high levels of customer care and handle feedback.

We have a great opportunity available for a qualified exercise professional. You will need at least a Level 2 health & fitness qualification and experience in the fitness industry.

Halo centres are all vital community assets which are well used and supported by the local population. You will deal with a wide variety of customers, supporting them to get the best out of their visit to the gym, as well as delivering a small number of group exercise classes each week on shift.

Main Purpose

Duties and responsibilitie

To enhance our customer’s experience and member retention, motivating clients to adhere to exercise to support long-term, health-related behaviour change.

Use technical knowledge to conduct assessments, consultations and inductions, providing sound demonstrations of gym-based exercise and equipment

Conduct pre-exercise screening and when individuals should be referred to other exercise or health professionals.

Plan safe and effective gym-based exercise programmes, providing ongoing supervision, monitoring and programme review to ensure programmes remain engaging, varied and progressive to clients’ needs and goals.

Provide a positive customer experience by routinely ‘walking the gym floor’ to engage and build rapport with clients and to support safe and effective exercise technique.

Use the equipment available within the gym to run small group activities

Be responsible for health and safety and cleaning relevant to their role within the gym environment.

Act as a first point of contact and provide high levels of customer care, service excellence and assist with any customer feedback, taking responsibility for the customer experience.

Maintain a high level of knowledge, keeping abreast of new trends within the industry, along with attending external & internal training regularly.
