Job summary

Leisure Solutions Community Trust (LSCT) is recruiting a Health and Fitness Coach at Swallows Leisure Centre in Sittingbourne. You will support members to achieve goals through coaching, personalised plans, and welcoming programmes in a busy community gym.

The role requires Level 2 Fitness Instructor and Level 3 PT qualifications, plus a commitment to ongoing training. DBS check is required, with Ah weekend/evening flexibility and a focus on inclusivity and motivation.

Qualifications

• Level 2 Fitness Instructor and Level 3 Personal Trainer qualifications (essential).
• First Aid Training and Group Training qualifications (desirable or willingness to work towards).
• Solid understanding of health and fitness principles and programme delivery.
• Strong communication skills with a passion for supporting and motivating others.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging fitness programmes, including group training and small group sessions.
• Coach members on personalised fitness plans aligned to their goals.
• Track member progress, offering motivation and adapting programmes for continued success.
• Carry out health and fitness assessments, including body composition and cardiovascular testing.
• Support onboarding of new members, helping them start their journey with confidence.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming gym environment while supporting members on the gym floor.

• Location: Swallows Leisure Centre, Central Avenue, Sittingbourne, Kent, ME10 4NT
• Hourly Rate: £10.85 to £12.71 per hour plus excellent benefits
• Schedule: Permanent, Part-time 6.50 hours per week

As a Health and Fitness Coach in our Leisure team, you'll support members to achieve their personal health and fitness goals through expert coaching, engaging programmes, and a welcoming environment. Your work will create meaningful, positive impact by helping individuals build healthier lifestyles.

From first-time gym users to experienced members, your guidance will shape journeys, build confidence, and contribute to healthier communities.

What you’ll do as a Health and Fitness Coach

Vetting and checks:

An Enhanced DBS check is required for this role. This includes spent and unspent convictions, cautions, and any relevant information held by local police, in accordance with the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and safeguarding requirements. You will also complete an Occupational Health Questionnaire to allow us to provide any support needed for you to succeed in the role.
