JD Gyms Newcastle upon Tyne is seeking a Duty Manager to oversee daily operations, balance member needs with safety, and drive membership and revenue. You will lead a team, maintain brand standards, and ensure a welcoming, well-run club environment.

The role requires flexibility for early mornings, evenings and weekends, with a strong emphasis on service excellence and operational delivery in a leisure setting.

Qualifications

• Experience leading or supporting colleagues in leisure, fitness or customer-focused environments.
• Committed to delivering excellent member service and coaching colleagues.
• Qualified to at least Level 2 Gym Instructor.
• Experience growing membership, commercial performance, local marketing and team development.
• Experience delivering operational delivery and people leadership.

Responsibilities

• Take responsibility for day-to-day operational running of the club, including opening and closing duties.
• Flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings and weekends.
• Adhere to Health and Safety policies and Company Procedures Handbook.
• Maintain JD Gyms Brand Standard and conduct safety checks.
• Support membership growth and commercial objectives.
• Deliver outstanding member service through positive and professional interactions.
• Represent JD Gyms values in all interactions with members and colleagues.
• Maintain cleanliness across all areas of the club.
