Job summary

Whitbread in Barnstaple is hiring a Ground Floor Team Member for a 20-hour-per-week, fixed-term role until January 2027. You’ll welcome guests, assist with check-in, serve meals, and help create a smooth, friendly guest experience.

No two shifts are the same; you may work evenings and weekends, behind the bar, or at the front desk. Prior hospitality experience isn’t required, and a positive, customer-focused attitude is key.

Qualifications

• No hotel experience required.
• Friendly, helpful and calm under pressure.
• Experience in hospitality or customer-facing roles is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Welcome guests and help them check in.
• Serve breakfast or dinner and assist behind the bar.
• Answer questions and help solve problems for guests.
• Keep reception, restaurant and public areas tidy and welcoming.
• Support teammates during busy periods and ensure guests feel looked after.
