Job summary

The Portsmouth Marriott Hotel is seeking a Front Desk Assistant Manager to join our Front Desk team and help ensure a outstanding guest experience at our flagship property near the Spinnaker Tower.

You will support the Front Office Manager, lead day-to-day operations, coach staff, and ensure service standards are met while maintaining a welcoming, professional atmosphere for all guests.

Qualifications

• Must demonstrate customer service excellence.
• Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
• Experience in front desk operations preferred.
• Knowledge of Opera property management system preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day front desk operations.
• Develop goals and plans to prioritise work.
• Handle guest issues and resolve conflicts.
• Maintain positive working relationships within the team.
• Assist Front Office Manager to ensure a smooth department.
• Respond to employee and guest concerns.
• Assist with hiring and coaching staff.
• Uphold uniform standards and service quality.
• Prepare letters and documents using MS Office.
• Maintain filing and records management.
• Process mail and manage communications.
• Coordinate HR activities including screening candidates and payroll assistance.
• Manage stock levels.
