Job summary

NHS Golden Jubilee University National Hospital in Glasgow is seeking a Hotel Front Office Host to join our Front Office team. You will be the first point of contact, delivering a warm welcome and an excellent guest experience while supporting reception, reservations, switchboard and guest services.

This fast-paced role requires strong communication, IT proficiency, and the ability to handle enquiries, check-ins/outs and collaborate with hotel and hospital colleagues to maintain high service

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a hotel reception or similar customer service setting.
• Excellent communication and customer care skills, including a professional telephone manner.
• Strong IT skills with Microsoft Office, email and internet systems.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good organisational skills with accuracy and attention to detail.
• Interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with guests and staff.
• Discretion with confidential or sensitive matters and flexible to shift patterns.

Responsibilities

• Provide a professional reception service to guests, patients, visitors and staff.
• Welcomes visitors and directs them to appropriate departments.
• Handle guest enquiries and provide advice on hotel services and local facilities.
• Operate the hotel switchboard and manage calls efficiently.
• Process reservations, guest arrivals and departures.
• Support hotel services including conference, housekeeping and F&B as needed.
• Maintain accurate financial, billing and cash handling processes.
• Follow health, safety and security procedures at all times.
• Collaborate with colleagues across the Conference Hotel and National Hospital.
